OREMC Lineworker Earns Journeyman Lineman Certification

Brian Drury of Folkston joined Okefenoke REMC as an apprentice II lineworker in March of 2015, and works out of the co-op’s Hilliard office. After hours of bookwork, nearly four years of on-the-job training and laboratory testing, Drury is celebrating the completion of Northwest Lineman College’s Lineworker Certification Program and his designation as a journeyman lineman. OREMC Welcomes New Lineworkers

Okefenoke REMC has hired three new lineworkers: Ernest “Ernie” Mitchell (pictured center) in the Kingsland District Office and Cole Carter (pictured left) and Ricky Williams (pictured right) in the Hilliard, Florida District Office. Mitchell, from Kingsland, joins OREMC with 17 years of linework experience having previously worked at Georgia Power Company. Most recently he was a senior missile mechanic with Lockheed Martin, Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, but welcomed the opportunity to join OREMC as he missed line work.
