It is time to slide into summer, and Summer Waves Water Park on Jekyll Island is offering Okefenoke REMC consumer-members a discounted admission rate on Sunday, June 2. OREMC Coloring Contest for Kids 12 and Under

Okefenoke REMC is celebrating its 80th birthday in 2019 and is inviting its youngest members to join in the fun with a coloring contest. Fellowship of Christian Athletes Appreciative of OREMC Donation

OREMC Gives to Georgia Lions Camp for the Blind

Helping to further the “vision for a brighter tomorrow” for the visually impaired, Okefenoke REMC has donated $2,000 to the Georgia Lions Camp for the Blind in Waycross. “We are very appreciative and thankful for OREMC’s donation,” says Mike Williams, camp director. “All of the money goes to the campers and because of donations like this, how we survive. OREMC Makes Donation to Coastal Pines Electrical Lineworker Program

Okefenoke REMC recently donated $2,500 and a bucket truck to Coastal Pines Technical College’s Electrical Lineworker program. OREMC Lineworker Earns Journeyman Lineman Certification

Brian Drury of Folkston joined Okefenoke REMC as an apprentice II lineworker in March of 2015, and works out of the co-op’s Hilliard office. After hours of bookwork, nearly four years of on-the-job training and laboratory testing, Drury is celebrating the completion of Northwest Lineman College’s Lineworker Certification Program and his designation as a journeyman lineman. Pam Harper: Beginning a New Chapter

Ringing in 2019 Pam Harper, plant accountant at Okefenoke REMC, is closing the book on her OREMC career on Jan. 31 after 44 years of service, and stepping confidently into the next chapter of her life—retirement. “The only thing I haven’t done is climb a pole,” Pam chuckled as she reflected on her OREMC experiences. Ferst Readers Regional Program Coordinator Michelle Maddox accepts a donation from OREMC presented by Nancy White, customer service supervisor. Giving the “gift of reading” is the motivation behind Okefenoke REMC’s recent $1,000 donation to Ferst Readers to support the establishment of the program in Brantley County.
