OREMC has announced a base rate increase effective April 1. While the co-op issued wholesale power cost adjustments (increases in 2022 and a decrease in 2023), this will be the first base rate increase in over three years.
OREMC Hosting Blood Drive April 4 in Nahunta
Okefenoke REMC is hosting a Red Cross Blood Drive at its headquarters building in Nahunta on Thursday, April 4 from 7 a.m. – 1 p.m. The blood drive is open to the public and appointments are requested and can be made in advance using the QR code or visiting OREMC Blood Drive.

Practice Makes Perfect: OREMC Wiring Contest
OREMC’s annual FFA Wiring Contest practice session, in conjunction with Brantley County High School, was held in early January ahead of the regional competition. Open to high school students in grades nine through 12, the wiring competition is an Agricultural electrification Career Development Event sponsored jointly by the Georgia FFA Association and the Georgia Electric Membership Corporation representing the state’s 41 electric membership cooperatives.

As 2023 winds down, the OREMC Foundation is celebrating the 112 grants it has awarded over the past two years totaling over $400,000. The next OREMC Foundation grant application deadline is Friday, January 5, 2024. Applications are available, and can be downloaded, at oremc.com/foundation.
OREMC Donates to Glynn County STEM Programs
OREMC made two $2,500 to Glynn County Schools STEM programs. Receiving grants were the Golden Isles College & Career Academy Engineering program and the STEM Lab at Satilla Marsh Elementary School.
OREMC Golf Tournament Sets Fundraising Record to Benefit Cancer Patients
During this season of thanks and giving, OREMC is beyond thrilled to announce the 32nd Annual Golf Tournament—presented by Oglethorpe Power/Georgia Transmission Corporation/Georgia System Operations—held on October 14 has been the biggest yet, resulting in a $25,000 to the Southeast Cancer Unit, Inc. These funds will directly benefit cancer patients undergoing treatment in Brantley, Pierce and Ware counties with medical and travel expenses related to their care.
